Ms. Cormier has performed leading roles with many regional and international opera houses including, Ashlawn -Highland Summer Festival, Indianapolis Opera, Opera Iowa, Des Moines Metro Opera, Vienna Chamber Opera, St. Petersburg Opera (Zazerkalya) in Russia, and Cape Cod Opera. After receiving a stipend from the American Berlin Foundation, Jane performed at the Theatre an der Wien in the Andrew Lloyd Webber’s German production, “Das Phantom der Oper” in the role of “Carlotta”. Ms. Cormier also sang “Queen of the Night” at the Vienna Chamber Opera and performed in multiple concerts with world-renown lieder interpreter and accompanist, Norman Shetler. In 2000, Ms. Cormier received the Boston Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, whose past recipients have included Ethel Kennedy, Phyllis Curtin and Sarah Caldwell for work in supporting young singers in opera. For the past twelve years, Ms. C ormier has also worked in conjunction with Opera NH producing in school opera programming to many thousands of children throughout the state New Hampshire. Ms. Cormier has been blessed to work with some of the finest teaching professionals in the opera world. She has worked with Joan Dornemann, Assistant Director and Prompter, and Nico Castel, International Diction Coach, both of the Metropolitan Opera in NYC. She coached and worked with Janet Bookspan and Cynthia Hoffmann, Director of the Voice Program at the Juilliard School. She has performed in many master classes including Elisabeth Schwartzkopf, Margaret Harshaw, Elly Ameling, Boris Goldovsky, and Jerome Hines. Today, Jane is founder/director of Just Love to Sing! a 501©(3) organization dedicated to educating and entertaining the public with regard to the operatic arts. | ![]() Carlos Martinez Music Director
Carlos Martinez, a native of San Antonio, Texas has been living in the New England area for 19 years. An accomplished musician, Carlos earned his Bachelors of Arts at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and pursued his Master's studies at the University of Houston. Mr. Martinez has performed as a bass vocal soloist throughout the United States with Houston Grand Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, San Antonio Opera Theatre and abroad in Germany, Denmark, and Russia. Mr. Martinez has numerous conducting credits including operatic, choral, and sacred works. He has been the Band Director for the Center Harbor Town Band for the past three years and has been the Music Director for OPERAFEST! of NH and Lakes Region Opera Company. Currently, Mr. Martinez is a music teacher for the Shaker Regional School District and runs a private vocal and piano studio in Manchester, NH. He is also the producer of a locally produced cable television show entitled, “Mr. M’s Wonderful World of Music”, a children’s educational music program. Carlos is married to Jane Cormier who is also an opera singer has two lovely children, Catherine and Christopher and currently lives by the shores of Lake Winnipesauke, in Alton, NH. |
